# How credits are calculated

### How credits are calculated

This is a forecasting tool that provides an approximate cost based on example project or usage that you specify. However, the forecasted cost can differ from the actual cost due to a variety of factors. Common reasons why the forecast might differ from actual costs include the following.

1\. **Duration:** Assumes 720 hours per month and does not account for leap years.

2\. **Promotional** **credits and discounts:** Does not account for promotional credits or other discounts.

3\. **Additional charges:** Does not account for additional usage not included in the forecast. For example, if you already use more than 5 GB of storage on the Free plan, you pay 0.018 credits per GB per hour.

4\. **Currency:** Forecast at a fixed exchange rate.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.goorm.io/en/goormide/credits/calculator.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
